Sergio Oliva survived 5 bullet wounds as well. Perhaps the Oliva bullet scene was inspired by that.
The funny of this character is that he has no only the aspect and fashion sense of Oliva but also he chases and hels other characters who are criminals (Sergio Oliva was a police oficer in Chicago) and can survive a gunshoot due his great muscles (Oliva's wife tried to murder him shooting him several times but couldn't kill him)
Muhammad Ali is also in the manga series, they also created a manga series where manny pacquiao fighting yunjiro

When I first saw Baki and found out Oliva was a fellow Cuban, I immediately liked him. It's awesome to see Cuban represented in any form of media. Most times they don't get it right, but it's still cool.
Unrelated note but Lance from Voltron is also of Cuban descent, I already liked him because he is funny as hell. My wife says he's like me down to the personality and mannerisms😂

Yo, Nick, they renamed Biscuit Oliva to Biscuit Oliver in the second part of the anime on Netflix, at least that's how they say his name in the English dub. Do you think Sergio claimed some sort of legal dispute with Netflix over rights to the character/name?
